A good everyday life

A day at Globus

Structure and familiarity matter a great deal here!

Every morning we open with the same "good morning grown-up", so that each child feels met and seen.

Once all the children have said goodbye, by 9 am at the latest, we tidy up and gather for circle time.

Circle time is a cosy and instructive moment where we count, sing and talk about the plan for the day, before finishing with crispbread and fruit.

Then the day gets going with play and activities.

We eat our packed lunches at 11.30 am. Lunch is another learning moment, full of everyday character formation.

After lunch everyone goes out into the garden and plays until the kindergarten closes at 3 pm.

Our most important task

A safe and caring learning environment

Through strong professional expertise, clarity and presence, we make room for each child's differences, always in partnership with the family.

Independence

We do not expect children to be able to do everything themselves, only that they want to learn. The children are encouraged and guided to manage things on their own, from getting dressed to tidying up.
The grown-ups are always ready with a helping hand.

Friendships

Friendships give children security, joy and a sense of belonging. Through community they develop social skills, empathy and self-confidence.

Character formation

Character formation means a great deal to us. This is where the child's personal, social and cultural development takes place.

A prepared environment

At Globus we take care to keep the play areas easy to approach. Everything has its place, and we tidy up together.

A backpack of skills

Every child arrives with their own little backpack of abilities learned at home, and we build on those skills together in the community.

Community

With us, everyone is part of the community.
That is an important foundation for a good school life and for understanding other people, and that is why we value it so highly.

Character formation

Care, presence and respect

Life together at Globus is marked by care, presence and respect, and that is why character formation fills so much of our day. It is the small things that make it good to be part of a community:

Listening to each other

Helping each other

Saying hello and goodbye

Speaking kindly

Waiting your turn

Saying thank you

Fun and joy

Learning should be fun

Everyday life at Globus is full of song, music, humour and laughter. Playing and learning should be fun for everyone, and joy is part of everything we do.
